Data we do not process
What makes this page unusual is that this side of the list is the long one:
- Your QR content — never sent to a server, never stored, never written to a log
- Logo files you upload — read in your browser, never uploaded anywhere
- Account details — there is no account system; we do not ask for an email or a password
- Payment details — no payments are taken, so no card data is ever processed
- Our own analytics — no visitor tracking is installed, Google Analytics included
You can verify this. Open the page, disconnect from the internet completely, and carry on generating and downloading QR codes. It works. That would be impossible if any of your data had to reach a server.
What is stored in your browser
Some preferences are kept in your browser's local storage so the site can remember them. This data stays on your device only, is never sent to us, and cannot be read by us:
| Key | What it holds | Why |
|---|---|---|
qrland-v1 | Your design preferences (colour, shape, size) | So your settings survive a page refresh |
qrland-count | How many codes you have downloaded on this device | The counter on the home page |
qrland-notice-ok | That you dismissed the notice bar | So it does not reappear every visit |
qrland-anchor-off | That you closed the bottom ad bar | So it stays closed for that session |
qrland-lang-ok | That you dismissed the language suggestion | So it is only offered once |
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it; the site then runs with default settings.
Advertising and cookies
What keeps QRLand free is advertising revenue. Ads are served by Google AdSense, which means Google and its partners may place cookies in your browser.
- Google uses cookies to serve ads; these may result in ads based on sites you have previously visited
- Google's advertising cookie enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you on this site and elsewhere on the internet
- Technical data such as your IP address, browser and device information may be processed by Google for ad measurement
- The content of your QR code is never sent to the advertising system — that data never goes onto the network at all
To turn off personalised advertising:
- Turn off personalisation at Google Ad Center
- Read Google's advertising policy
- Set preferences across many networks at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices
- Block third-party cookies entirely in your browser settings — the site still works completely
Using an ad blocker is fine too. No feature of the tool depends on advertising; everything stays open. We will never ask you to disable it.
Where the ads go — and where they never go
In most free tools, ad placement is designed against the user. We applied the opposite rule: an ad never comes between you and your code.
Where ads appear: between the article sections, at the end of the page, and in the block that opens after your code has downloaded. On mobile, a thin bar appears at the bottom once you start reading the articles; you can close it.
What we never do: no full-screen ads that swallow the page, no countdowns, no "watch an ad then download", no units squeezed between the steps of creating a code, no automatic ad placement, and no ads that play sound or video by themselves.
If an ad breaks one of these rules, that is our mistake and we will fix it.
Your rights and contact
Under the GDPR, the Turkish KVKK and comparable laws you have the right to request information about, correct and delete your personal data. In practice the situation here is simple: we hold no record of you — there is no account system, no database and no visitor log. If there were data to delete, we would have had to collect it first.
For data processed on the advertising side, Google is the controller; use the Google links above for requests relating to it.
If you spot an error or omission in this text, or notice an ad breaking the rules above, tell us and we will fix it: Set SITE.email in src/config.js
Frequently asked questions
Does the content I put in a QR code reach you?
No. Encoding runs in your browser; the content is never sent to any server. You can verify it by disconnecting from the internet and continuing to use the tool — it keeps working.
Does the site use cookies?
Not on our own behalf; there is no tracking or analytics cookie. Only Google AdSense, which serves the ads, may set cookies. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser leaves the site fully functional.
Can I use an ad blocker?
Yes, freely. No feature depends on ads; everything stays open with a blocker running. We will not ask you to turn it off.
How do I turn off personalised ads?
Through Google Ad Center at myadcenter.google.com. Ads will still appear but will not be selected based on your interests.
Where does the logo file I upload go?
Nowhere. The file is read in your browser and drawn directly onto the QR image; it is never uploaded.
